Jacqueline christY, Founder & executive director

Jacqueline Christy is a writer/director, the founder of Access Theater, and recipient of a 2017 Sloan/Women Make Movies research grant. Her directing work includes the shorts Rehearsal (Austin Film Festival 2013) and the upcoming Other People. She is recently graduated from NYU Graduate Film and is finishing her first feature, Magic Hour.


Will Detlefsen, artistic director & managing director

Will Detlefsen is a Bay Area-born New York-based freelance director and Artistic Director & Managing Director of Access Theater. Select directing credits include: The Funfair by Simon Stephens (Cal Rep) Machinalia by Steph Del Rosso (JACK & Ubuntu Theatre Project), Larvae by Kelsey Torstveit (Alchemical), Blasted by Sarah Kane (Duo Theatre), Strange Men by Will Snider, Go. Please. Go. by Emily Feldman, Lear by Young Jean Lee, and Vieux Carré by Tennessee Williams (UC San Diego). In December, Will is directing the world premiere of The Straights by T. Adamson at JACK's new space in Brooklyn, NY. Assisting credits include: Trip Cullman, Chay Yew, Tyne Rafaeli, Tony Taccone, Des McAnuff, Alex Timbers and Rachel Chavkin. 2013 Drama League Fellow, 2017-2018 Manhattan Theatre Club Directing Fellow, 2018-2019 Playwrights Horizons Directing Fellow. 5th Cohort of the National Directors Fellowship at the O'Neill Theater Center. Chris phan, technical director

Chris Phan has been a Technical Director at Access Theater since 2018. Mr. Phan is responsible for supervising and maintaining all new productions out of the Black Box Theater and the Gallery Space. Prior to Access Theater he was the Production Manager for Australia Strange Fruit Touring Company and Aquila Theatre.
